This cozy farmhouse at Stemple Creek Ranch (West Marin) is not to be missed. It is a few miles from the ocean and boasts two bedrooms, a quiet yard with garden and covered patio, and views of the countryside that stretch for miles.  The Schoolhouse is in the same vicinity on the ranch as our event barn, the Cabin, and the Writer’s Cottage. Zia’s Farmhouse is about 1 mile away. 


The ranch is just a few miles from the town of Tomales, less than one mile Shoreline Highway (Highway 1), and a great home base for both Marin and Sonoma Counties.

Please note: No pets, no smoking, no open flames. This is a working ranch and we have an employee that lives close to this house. Please note that you will likely see our employees and guests on the ranch and will see and hear cars, trucks, and the operations of a working family ranch.

If you are looking to host an event or do commercial/professional photography, please contact us first. Renting this house does not allow you to have a party or event on site. Maximum occupancy for the Schoolhouse is 6 guests at all times.

Beautiful location. Peaceful surroundings and lovely garden space. Family friendly (three kids under 7). Plenty of space to explore with kid-friendly living spaces (not a lot of breakables).Convenient proximity to beaches and fun local restaurants (bakery, oysters, beachfront dining).Highly recommend staying here. We would love to come back.

Omg! I stay in a LOT of airbnb's but this house is one of the best!!! I wish I could have stayed for another day. It's SO beautiful! The land, the flowers, the house! I felt like i was in the Secret Garden. Saw so many hummingbirds and other birds chirping, the owls hooting. And the pull out couch is the MOST comfortable pull out couch I have ever slept on! Also, the bathroom was fantastic! All 3 of my girls showered in there and loved all the space and seat. The electric heaters worked like a charm. Thank you so much! I'll be back!

If you looking for a beautiful and peaceful place Lisa has it all. Most beautiful garden, very well maintained. I especially enjoyed sitting by the fountain in complete silence and I finally found peace I was looking for. Thank you Lisa for sharing this magical place with other people. Our family had a wonderful stay at Lisa's home on her family's ranch. The ranch's grounds are quiet, well-maintained, and offered us the perfect retreat during our travels. We loved the farmhouse features in the home and wished we could have stayed longer in the area. Lisa was a very responsive and accommodating host and we would love to stay at her property again.
