"Why is Grass Fed Beef Better?"
Why is Grass-Fed Beef Better?
We raise 100% grass-fed and grass-finished cattle and sheep. They never eat corn, soy or other grains and live their entire lives on open pastures. Our pigs are humanely raised in a eucalyptus grove where they enjoy a vegetarian diet with plenty of room to roam around and express natural behaviors. Our animals never receive artificial hormones, growth promotants or antibiotics.
We work in sync with Mother Nature using regenerative, progressive carbon farming practices, fighting climate change and enhancing ecosystems. We promote biodiversity on our property, protecting sensitive riparian areas and propagating native plants and trees. Our home ranch is proudly Audubon Certified Bird Friendly and most of our pastures are certified organic.
We are committed to our animal’s welfare. Our practices are audited and certified through the Global Animal Partnership program. We are proud to have a level 4 certification for our beef that reflects the respect and care our animals receive.
Why Grass-fed?
- Grass-fed and finished meat is higher in vitamins and minerals than grain-fed. Comparison studies have shown they contain more B vitamins, calcium magnesium, potassium, and vitamin E. They are also high in beta carotene, vitamin C and contain more heart-healthy “good fats” like omega-3 fatty acids.
- A grass diet is healthier for the animals themselves. Our animals are raised free-range from birth to harvest, grazing on an intense schedule of pasture rotations. Using regenerative stewardship practices gives us the healthiest animals, land, and ecosystem.
- Working diligently to have the right genetic mix in our animals and the right perennial plants for them to eat creates tender, well-marbled, and deeply flavorful meat. Amazing taste, saving the environment, and keeping you healthy are equally important.
