Restaurants We Love: The Garden Bistro, Novato
One of the aspects we love about our business is working with eateries that support Marin County farms and ranches by featuring locally grown ingredients on their menu. For us, collaborating with the wonderful Hattar family, who own the Garden Bistro restaurant in Ignacio, has been a dream come true.
This local gem takes pride in serving our grass-fed beef and lamb to their customers. For twenty-one years, owner and head chef Hilda Hattar and her daughter, Nadia Hattar Rhoads, have impressed guests with their authentic Mediterranean-style cuisine. Each dish is lovingly prepared from scratch using locally sourced, sustainably grown, and organic ingredients.
The Bistro's dinner menu highlights Stemple Creek Ranch New York Steak, finished with a Cabernet-Green Peppercorn Sauce; Rack of Lamb with a Dijon-Herb Crust and Zinfandel Reduction, Braised Lamb Shank with wine and herbs, and a classic Braised Beef Ossobuco.
In addition to delicious food, guests will find a great selection of Northern California wines to pair with their meal. In good weather, we particularly enjoy dining al fresco in the relaxed, open air setting on their outdoor garden patio.
Hilda treats her customers as though they are guests in her home, and she has gained a loyal following of patrons who appreciate the fine dining experience she offers. We appreciate the Garden Bistro's continued support and their commitment to source locally raised meats for their menu.
Located at 333 Enfrente Road in Novato, the Garden Bistro is open Tuesday through Friday from 11:00am-2:00pm for lunch and Tuesday through Sunday from 5:00pm-9:00pm for dinner (closed Monday).
