Chef Halstead will examine the health benefits of eating an ancestral diet emphasizing grass-fed meats, along with plants, nuts, and seeds. Her cookbook, Primal Cuisine: Cooking for the Paleo Diet, features grain, gluten, and sugar free recipes designed with easy preparation and optimal flavor in mind. Books will be available for purchase and signing by the author.

This informative event, sponsored by Marin Organic, includes a tour of our ranch led by owner Loren Poncia, and a locavore lunch starring Chef Halstead's recipe for a Blue Cheese Burger on a Butter Lettuce Bun made with Stemple Creek Ranch organic grass-fed beef and award-winning Point Reyes Farmstead Original Blue Cheese. Dessert will follow featuring fresh berries served with Straus Family Creamery Cream.
