If you visited our farm-stand at the San Rafael Civic Center Farmers' Market this past Sunday, you found the lovely Liz Brett manning the booth. Liz became a part of the Stemple Creek Ranch team three years ago when we first brought our grass-fed beef and lamb to this market.
Born and raised in Marin County, we got to know Liz when she and some friends rented one of the historic farmhouses on our ranch property. While there, she fell in love with the land and our family--and we fell in love with her too! When she left the ranch to pursue her educational goals, Loren hired her to be the smiling face at our market booth and help with special events.
"I love working for the Poncias," Liz says happily. "They not only produce a good product, which makes my job very easy, but they take really good care of their land and that's important to me."
We are proud to share that in addition to completing her training as a licensed EMT, she is now a Certified Nurse’s Assistant who works at the Dominican Convent in San Rafael providing stellar care to the Sisters at their assisted living facility.
Despite her busy schedule, Liz still fills in for an occasional farmers' market shift when needed. Her favorite cut of grass-fed meat? That depends on the situation. If it's just her, our Angus beef fillet mignon wins hands-down. But if she's "feeding the masses," as she likes to say, she'd choose to slow cook some juicy beef short ribs.
Thanks, Liz, for being a valued member of our Stemple Creek Ranch family.
